Parent’s Responsibility

I speak in love dear parent
Has the thought occurred to you?
Have you helped your children – faith to find
Like only you can do?

Have you given them encouragement?
The Christian path to take
Or do you sleep on unawares
With their precious souls at stake.

You wouldn’t like your child to say
As they grow up, “Well you know
My parents never helped me
Or the right way tried to show”

Good parents I’d encourage you
Your children help along
Persuade them to attend a Church
Let their faith get grounded strong

And so, as passing years roll by
You with my conscience clear can say,
“I helped my child, true faith to find
And I ne’er regret that day

Your child will look with marked respect
On example set by you
And as you sow in thoughtful love
You will reap loves harvest true.
